ESA Business Applications and Space Solutions (BASS) supports the development of commercially sustainable services that use satellite communications, Earth observation and positioning technologies to address challenges across industry and society.
As a Downstream Applications Engineer, I engage with industry, public authorities and end users to identify operational challenges and opportunities where space-enabled solutions can deliver value. My work focuses particularly on the energy, logistics and maritime sectors, supporting the development of innovative applications, stakeholder partnerships and future ESA-funded activities.
I am interested in connecting with organisations seeking to exploit space technologies, develop new downstream services, validate customer needs, or explore collaboration opportunities within the ESA ecosystem. Topics of interest include critical infrastructure resilience, supply chain optimisation, energy systems, digitalisation, artificial intelligence, sustainability and emerging commercial space applications.

Your innovative projects
Supporting the identification, development and assessment of innovative space-enabled applications through ESA's Business Applications and Space Solutions (BASS) programme.
Activities include stakeholder engagement, challenge identification, opportunity creation and the development of future projects that combine satellite communications, Earth observation and positioning technologies with emerging digital capabilities.
Current areas of interest include energy system resilience, critical infrastructure monitoring, logistics and supply chain optimisation, maritime operations, intelligent transport systems, digital twins, artificial intelligence and sustainability applications. We work with industry, public authorities, research organisations and end users to transform operational challenges into commercially viable space-enabled services.
We are particularly interested in projects with strong customer engagement, clear commercial potential and measurable societal or economic impact.
